I care about the city of Faribault, and I’d like to serve
the people of Faribault by joining the School Board. I’ve worked and studied education
my entire career, over 20 years now. I’ve worked in both public and private
schools, at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I’ve worked as a
reading specialist, a learning specialist, a classroom teacher, and a school administrator
overseeing student academic progress, teacher support and evaluation, and
curriculum. I have a master’s degree in education, and my recent work has
focused on bringing innovative educational models to the middle and high school
levels.
Now I am also the proud parent of two children at
Roosevelt. It’s difficult raising children, and I have the highest hopes for
their future. I entrust my children and their education to the Faribault Public
Schools. I want everyone in this city to have that same pride in all of our schools,
our teachers, and our students.
I understand that the funding of public schools is
complicated and difficult, and I believe my experience in this field will be
valuable as our city works together to improve our schools. I have worked my
entire career to help children see the potential in themselves and then strive
to do their best - I think we can all agree that we all want the best and
brightest future for the children of Faribault. Our children are the future of
this city, state, and country, and we must ensure their education is the best
we can provide. I believe I have the skills and experience to help bring our
city together as we work to address the issues facing the district.
